When
WAAG Los Angeles began manufacturing off-road products in 1993,
it had 50 years of experience in manufacturing fine custom brass and iron
bedroom furniture.
The two would seem to
have little in common, but WAAG's design savvy, sophisticated metal-working
skills and attention to detail in the furniture industry made for
an easy transition into the competitive automotive aftermarket world.
In the
process, WAAG has risen to national prominence while transforming
grille guards from the boxy, crudely manufactured eyesores of yesterday
into attractive accessories that reflect the refined styling of today's
trucks and SUVs.
The company's progressive approach has resulted in numerous innovations
in off-road gear that remain the envy of the industry. WAAG introduced
contoured styling that follows and accentuates the distinctive
lines of the vehicle. WAAG was also the first to blend welds, miter tubing
and utilize tough, durable gaskets to eliminate rust.
Perhaps
most importantly, WAAG has always insisted that each grille guard be an
easy, bolt-on installation that requires no cutting or drilling
-- something its competitors can not claim. To achieve such a lofty goal,
WAAG has worked overtime to develop innovative bracketry that utilizes
existing factory holes which saves time for the installer and ensures
a perfect fit every time.
It
is WAAG's high standards and huge customer demand that led to other ground-breaking
WAAG products. WAAG took an item as basic as a side tube and in 1998 created
the first "Wheel-To-Wheel" side tube that was
fully frame mounted and extended to the rear wheel with a rear step to
allow easy access to the truck bed or tool box.
Our Wheel-To-Wheel
line has spawned yet another design innovation: the one-piece "Kickout"
side tube for dually pickups that flares out at the rear to follow
the lines of the rear fender. No manufacturer today offers, or has even
attempted such a product.
Most
recently, we introduced the WAAG Rear Bumper Guard, the first guard
of its kind to embody the spirit and design of the front grille guard.
The guard, originally targeted for upscale SUVs with painted rear bumpers,
has proven popular with all models and makes of SUVs and trucks. The guard,
which mounts in just minutes to factory tow-hitch mount locations,
and includes heavy gauge steel plates and protective vinyl molding,
completes the off-road ensemble with style.
WAAG's precision
engineering and cutting-edge design continue to set the pace in the aftermarket
industry as evidenced by the growing number of WAAG imitators in the off-road
field.
Though often copied, WAAG's
commitment to quality, customer satisfaction and being an industry leader
has yet to be equalled. WAAG is determined to keep it that way.
